Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TrueMap mobile application and website at https://truemap.org/ and mobile application at https://apps.apple.com/app/truemap/id6759581919, operated by Desert Rose FZE. ("we", "our", "us", or "TrueMap"). By downloading, installing, or using TrueMap in any capacity, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and all applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates.

1. Acceptance and Eligibility

By creating an account or using TrueMap in any capacity, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years of age;
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
• You are not prohibited from using the service under the laws of the UAE or your country of residence; and
• You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms in full.

If you do not meet these requirements, you must not use TrueMap.

2. Definitions

• "User" — any individual who accesses or uses TrueMap, whether as a guest or registered account holder.
• "Review" — any textual content, rating, or media submitted by a User about a Business.
• "Business" — any café, shop, salon, or other commercial entity listed or discussed on TrueMap.
• "Evidence" — private verification materials (receipts, bank statements, photos) submitted to support a Review.
• "Promo Code" — a discount or offer code made available through TrueMap by a third-party Business.
• "Premium Subscription" — a paid subscription providing access to additional features within TrueMap.
• "Content" — all reviews, photos, ratings, comments, and other materials submitted by Users.

3. User Accounts

You may use TrueMap as a guest without creating an account; guest usage is limited in functionality. To access full features, you may register using your email address or via Apple ID or Google Account.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information;
• Update your information promptly when it changes; and
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false, misleading, or incomplete information.

4. User Content and Reviews

4.1 Factual Basis Required

TrueMap operates under UAE law, including Federal Decree-Law No. 31/2021 (Penal Code) and Federal Decree-Law No. 34/2021 (Cybercrimes Law), which prohibit defamation, false statements, and content that harms another's reputation. All reviews must be based on your genuine, first-hand experience and must be supported by verifiable evidence (receipt, bank transaction, or equivalent documentation) that you can provide upon request by our moderation team.

4.2 Prohibited Content

The following is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate content removal, account termination, and referral to relevant UAE authorities:

• False, fabricated, or misleading statements about a Business or its staff;
• Defamatory language, including unsubstantiated accusations of fraud, theft, or criminal conduct;
• Insults, harassment, or personal attacks directed at individuals;
• Content submitted on behalf of a competitor to damage a Business's reputation;
• Paid or incentivized reviews not disclosed as such;
• Content that violates the privacy of individuals, including unauthorized photos or personal information;
• Sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise offensive content; and
• Any content that violates applicable UAE law.

4.3 Language Standards

Reviews must use respectful, factual language. Terms such as "scam", "fraud", or "criminal" are only permitted when accompanied by documented, verifiable evidence directly supporting the claim. TrueMap moderators may edit or remove such language at their discretion, even in otherwise factual reviews.

4.4 Licence You Grant Us

By submitting any Content to TrueMap, you grant Desert Rose FZE. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to display, reproduce, distribute, and moderate that Content within the TrueMap platform for the purposes of providing and improving the service. This licence survives deletion of your account to the extent necessary to fulfil prior display obligations (e.g. cached copies), but published reviews will be removed upon account deletion or upon an approved deletion request as set out in Section 4.5 below.

4.5 Deletion of Reviews

You may request the removal of any Review you have submitted by contacting us at [email protected] and identifying the Review. We will process deletion requests within 5 business days. Note that deletion of a Review may affect your account rank and associated Promo Code access. We reserve the right to retain copies of Content where required by UAE law or for the defence of legal claims.

4.6 Public Photos

Photos submitted for public display must not contain images of individuals who have not consented to being photographed and published, or who have not reached the age of consent under applicable law. By submitting public photos, you confirm that you hold all necessary rights and permissions. Responsibility for compliance rests solely with you. Desert Rose FZE. is not liable for user-submitted content that violates the rights or privacy of any third party.

5. Moderation and Complaints

5.1 Pre-Publication Review

All reviews are subject to moderation before publication. Our moderation team reviews submissions for compliance with these Terms, applicable UAE law, and factual accuracy. Decisions are typically communicated via push notification within 72 hours of submission.

5.2 Moderation Decisions

We reserve the right to approve, reject, edit, or remove any review at our sole discretion, without obligation to provide reasons.

5.3 Business Complaints

Businesses may submit a formal complaint regarding a published review by contacting [email protected]. We will review complaints within 3 business days and may temporarily unpublish a review pending investigation.

5.4 User Appeals

If your review is rejected or removed, you may appeal by contacting [email protected] with supporting evidence. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days. Our decision following an appeal is final.

5.5 Private Evidence

Evidence materials submitted to support a review are visible only to you and the assigned moderator. They are never published publicly and are permanently deleted immediately after moderation is complete.

6. Promo Codes and Ranks

Promo codes available in TrueMap are provided exclusively by third-party Businesses. TrueMap acts as a display platform only and does not guarantee the validity, availability, or value of any promo code, nor the quality of goods or services obtained using one. All disputes regarding promo codes must be resolved directly with the relevant Business. No personal data is shared with Businesses in connection with promo code access.

Access to Promo Codes is tied to your account rank, which is determined by the number of verified reviews you have submitted. Rank thresholds are set at our sole discretion and may change without notice. Submitting a review does not guarantee access to any specific Promo Code.

7. Premium Subscription

7.1 Pricing

TrueMap offers an optional Premium Subscription providing access to additional features, including unlocked Promo Codes. The current indicative pricing is:

• Monthly plan: AED 18 per month
• Annual plan: AED 130 per year

Prices are displayed in the App Store in your local currency at the time of purchase and may weray as you may be directed to other payment provide - so the price may be displayed different. The amounts shown above are indicative and may differ from the price charged to you due to currency conversion, App Store regional pricing, or applicable taxes. The price confirmed at checkout in the App Store is the binding price.

7.2 Billing and Renewal

• Subscriptions are processed and managed through the Apple App Store via Apple In-App Purchase (IAP).
• Subscriptions can be processesed through our partner and managed In TrueMap app it self or via support [email protected]
• Billing is handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's Terms of Service. OR if subscription purchase prosesed trought our parthner.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID → Subscriptions settings. OR if subscription purchase prosesed trought our parthner it can be managed diractly in TrueMap app it self.

7.3 Refunds

We offer a 14-day refund for subscribers who have not meaningfully used the Premium features (i.e. have not accessed any Premium-only Promo Codes or features) since the date of purchase. To request a refund under this policy, contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of the purchase date. Refunds are processed through Apple and are subject to Apple's refund procedures. OR if subscription purchase prosesed trought our parthner they are subject to their refund procedures.

Outside of this 14-day window, all purchases are final, except where required by applicable law or Apple's refund policy.

7.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice communicated via the application or email.

8. Push Notifications

With your permission, TrueMap sends push notifications regarding review status updates. Notifications are never used for third-party advertising. You may disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the TrueMap application.

9. Analytics

We collect anonymous, aggregated data on how you use TrueMap via Mixpanel. This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used only to improve the application. See our Privacy Policy for details.

10. User Responsibility and Indemnification

You are solely and fully responsible for all Content you submit, including reviews, photos, and evidence materials. By submitting Content, you represent and warrant that:

• The Content is truthful and based on your genuine, first-hand experience;
• You hold all rights necessary to submit and publish the Content; and
• The Content does not violate any UAE law, third-party rights, or these Terms.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Desert Rose FZE. and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of TrueMap or your violation of these Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, features, design, and functionality of TrueMap — other than User Content — are owned by Desert Rose FZE. and are protected by UAE and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of TrueMap without our prior written consent.

12. Limitation of Liability

TrueMap is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful content submitted by other users.

To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, Desert Rose FZE. accepts full liability for direct damages caused by our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct. However, we shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages;
• Loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities;
• Actions or content of third-party Businesses or other users;
• Inaccuracy of reviews published on the platform; or
• Validity, availability, or quality of Promo Codes or associated services.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UAE law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Account Suspension and Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. Upon confirmed deletion, your account and associated published reviews will be removed in accordance with our data retention policy.

13.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, without prior notice and without obligation to provide reasons, if we determine in our sole discretion that you have:

• Violated these Terms or applicable UAE law;
• Submitted false, defamatory, or fraudulent content;
• Attempted to manipulate or circumvent our moderation system; or
• Engaged in any conduct that harms TrueMap, its users, or third parties.

Upon termination, your right to access TrueMap ceases immediately. We may, at our discretion, preserve records of your activity as required by law or for the defence of legal claims.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, including but not limited to:

• Federal Decree-Law No. 31/2021 (UAE Penal Code) — Articles 425–428 regarding defamation;
• Federal Decree-Law No. 34/2021 (Cybercrimes Law) — Article 43 regarding online defamation; and
• Federal Decree-Law No. 45/2021 (PDPL) — personal data protection.

Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the application or by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of TrueMap after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
